A structured treatment plan, built around you

Our short-term Suicide Prevention Program provides a personalized treatment plan with 1:1 support to help you feel better, faster.

You and your therapist will meet weekly to build hope, ensure safety, and address the root causes of suicidal thoughts and feelings.

Meet weekly—or more often, if necessary—for 60-minute therapy sessions. On average, program members participate in 4-8 sessions.

As part of your treatment, you’ll meet with a psychiatric provider for medication management, changes, and refills.

Our program lasts from 4-12 weeks. After the program, you can continue care with your same trusted providers for ongoing support and treatment.

Our online Suicide Prevention Program provides the structured, frequent support you need to manage suicidal thoughts, and feel better faster, more effectively, and from the comfort of home.

Suicide Prevention consists of:

  • Initial evaluation: Risk assessment from a trained specialist
  • 1:1 therapy for personal support: Weekly—or more frequently, if needed—45-minute sessions
  • Psychiatry for medication:: Initial 30-minute consult, then sessions as needed.
  • Interactive lessons: Independent learning, with guidance from your individual therapist.
  • Anytime messaging: Connect to your provider between sessions.

Complete our online assessment to learn if you’re eligible for the Suicide Prevention Program. If you are eligible, you can book an initial evaluation and begin your care. If you are not eligible, you’ll be referred to one of our other programs.

Current members can skip the above step if they are referred by their Brightside provider.

Our Suicide Prevention Program lasts from 4-12 weeks. Your therapist will determine the right length of treatment for you.

Yes! During sign-up, we’ll check your insurance and you’ll see an estimate of the cost for your first initial consultation with your therapist. They’ll walk through the program and ensure it’s a good fit for you. You won’t be charged for Suicide Prevention until we can chat through costs with you.

After your initial consultation, our coordinators will be in contact with you to provide a full cost estimate—so you can understand your insurance coverage and personal cost responsibility.

Our expert providers are handpicked for their ability to provide best-in-class mental health care. They have years of experience and active licenses in your state.
 
All of our therapists have:

  • A master’s or doctorate degree in clinical psychology, clinical social work, or counseling from an accredited program
  • Experience delivering science-backed (also known as evidence-based) care for anxiety, depression & suicidal thoughts

All of our psychiatric providers are:

  • Psychiatrists or psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs)
  • Exceptionally skilled at prescribing effective medication

Every provider in our network goes through a rigorous hiring and vetting process that you can learn more about here. They also follow the same high clinical standards as in-person providers.

After completing Suicide Prevention, we’re here to support your next steps. Brightside offers a range of care options, including therapy and psychiatry, to help you continue care seamlessly. Your therapist and care coordinators will guide you in finding the best next step for your needs.

If prescribed, your psychiatric provider can send your prescription to a local pharmacy for your convenience.
