Biography

Stacy Doney is a knowledgeable, warm, and engaging clinical social worker who has been practicing in Maryland since 2008. She first entered the field of social work in 1996 as a domestic violence therapist and advocate. She specializes in anxiety, depression, family-of-origin issues, life transitions, self-compassion, and traumatic stress. Stacy offers multiple modalities, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, nature-informed therapy, person-centered therapy, and trauma-informed expressive arts therapy. She is committed to providing a welcoming, affirming therapy space for her clients, meeting them with compassionate respect and aligning treatment with their values and goals. She enjoys sharing educational resources and prompts that harness imagination and self-reflection for healing. Stacy is also a published poet, mixed media artist, and a lifelong amateur naturalist. In her free time, she enjoys hiking through public gardens and arboretums, attending rock concerts and artist talks, reading, and journaling.
