"Shama Winston-Ford is a dedicated and compassionate therapist specializing in anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship issues, self-esteem struggles, and trauma. Holding a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Charleston Southern University in Charleston, SC, Dr. She has honed a diverse skill set through practicum and internships at the Riverbluff Discipleship and Counseling Center.

With over three years of experience teaching Emotional Regulation and Social Emotional classes at Horizons summer camp, hosted at Ashley Hall School, Mrs. Ford focuses on empowering young women from under-resourced schools in the tri-county area. This role has deepened her understanding of the importance of open communication in addressing the emotional challenges individuals face.

As a Therapist with Lived Experience (TLE), she values authenticity and transparency in her practice. Her eclectic therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based therapies such as TF-CBT, Art Therapy, and Gottman couples therapy, alongside mindfulness, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral techniques. She offers therapy services both in person and online, as well as unique modalities such as walk-and-talk therapy and beach therapy, allowing clients to engage with nature while exploring their emotional landscapes.She emphasizes the importance of utilizing one's support system and community resources to help clients achieve their envisioned lives while respecting cultural considerations.
