Biography

Robert Merwin Jr., LPC, is a therapist with nearly 15 years of experience serving adults with addiction, anxiety, gambling, career, relationship, weight, and men’s concerns. He studied at Oregon State University.

Robert blends CBT, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy in a practical, client-centered style. He helps clients feel heard, build on their strengths, and take meaningful steps toward change. Outside work, he enjoys motorcycling, golf, and traveling.

Treatment approach

CBT and Reality Therapy are my main theoretical orientations. I find minimizing anxiety with RT, and using CBT to insulate patterns to help a person maintain a good course, is an excellent combination.

Strengths

I tend get to the root of the problem, quickly, that is, if not restricted or redirected ... pitter patter, lets get at er' I like to say... Were not on a date, we are here to get you back to as close to homeostasis as possible. You are not the only person with problems, and you are not alone.

Interests & hobbies

I play golf, I have three motorcycles, one being completely rebuilt this winter, and nothing, is better, than travel, especially a cruise.
