Biography

Rita Liegner, LMHC, is a highly experienced, skilled, and caring licensed mental health counselor with more than 30 years of practice with diverse adults of all ages, lifestyles, education and work backgrounds. Ms. Liegner holds a Masters Degree in Psychology, with additional graduate credits in Organizational Psychology. She specializes in social anxiety, chronic procrastination and low motivation, depression, panic and traumatic anxiety symptoms, and career and work dysfunction including interpersonal difficulties. In addition to her own clinical work, she has served as a valued leader with non-profit behavioral health agencies, developing programs and supervising program heads and clinicians in the delivery of effective, evidence-based, clinical services for people with a range of mental and emotional issues. Ms. Liegner listens carefully and responsively to her clients, and works together with them to help them achieve their therapy goals and develop skills to live a more satisfying, healthy, and productive life. She continually stays informed of new and promising therapy approaches in her areas of expertise, and in the mental health field generally. On a personal note, Ms. Liegner is an animal lover, and enjoys creative art projects, walking and hiking, reading, and gardening.
