Biography

Michael Reel, LCMHC, is a licensed clinical mental health counselor with nearly two decades of experience supporting adolescents and adults through anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, and life transitions. He has worked across crisis services, outpatient therapy, and group treatment settings, bringing a steady, informed presence to his clinical work. Michael approaches mental health counseling from a person-centered and cognitive behavioral perspective, while using Motivational Interviewing and harm-reduction strategies when working with substance use concerns. He views life challenges as part of normal human development and helps clients build insight, coping skills, and healthier responses to stress over time.

Michael’s therapeutic style is collaborative, respectful, and empowering. He believes clients are the experts in their own lives and values their right to guide the direction of treatment based on what feels most helpful and meaningful to them. Michael enjoys working with men, first responders, trauma survivors, and individuals seeking both individual and group support. Outside of the therapy room, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son and collecting vintage baseball cards. His grounded, practical approach reflects his belief in helping people help themselves while fostering lasting, positive change.
