Biography

Kirk Henderson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Studies from Grand Canyon University, a Master of Arts in General Psychology from the University of the Rockies, and a Master of Science in Continuing Education in Counseling and Psychology from the University of West Alabama. He is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and uses this approach in his therapy practice, along with Emotion Focused Therapy and Client Centered Therapy.

Kirk has a unique background, having been in pastoral ministry for twenty-three years before becoming licensed as a Professional Counselor. This allows him to provide faith-based approaches for those clients for whom this is meaningful and helpful.

Kirk has a laid-back, and easy style of communicating and interacting with clients. Connecting with his clients is extremely important, and because of this, he uses a lot of humor, validation, and affirmation. He also provides very directed psychoeducation, therapeutic interventions, and homework when needed. He is very serious about making sure his clients are getting the best care from him.

Kirk has been using telehealth therapy since 2019, and is very experienced in using a virtual platform to provide efficient therapy sessions that meet the client’s therapy goals.
