At one time or another, most of us find that we need a genuine and compassionate advocate in our corner to help us handle times of stress or uncertainty or when we are faced with life’s most difficult challenges. Using a person-centered approach with authentic warmth, empathy, and humor Kendra creates an environment of connection and safety where clients feel supported, as they explore, reflect, and heal. Kendra Metcalf is a licensed professional counselor who graduated from Harding University in 2014 with a specialist degree in professional counseling. Kendra’s master level work focused on working with populations in higher education. During her professional career Kendra has worked with all different populations in several different settings including her faith based private practice, community mental health, and residential treatment facility. Kendra provides therapy for depression, anxiety, communication, poor self-esteem, conflict resolution, parenting issues, grief and loss, and relationship issues. Her counseling approach involves using several other evidenced based therapies such as; Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance and Commitment, Motivational Interviewing, and Interpersonal therapy.
I take a person-centered, collaborative approach to therapy, meeting you where you are rather than taking a “one size fits all” approach. We’ll work together to understand what’s happening, recognize patterns, build on your strengths, and find practical tools that can help you create meaningful change. I want you to feel both supported and empowered throughout the process.
My greatest strengths are my genuineness, empathy, and ability to connect with people without judgment. I’m kind and compassionate, but also honest and real—I’ll meet you where you are while gently challenging you when it can help you grow.
Outside of work I love my family, cooking good food, & reading. I also am a nature lover who spends as much time outdoors as possible whether its playing with my two dogs, RVing, hiking, or kayaking.
