Biography

Welcome to a space where balance, resilience, and cultural understanding come together.
I’m J. Robert Pozo, a Latine Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who believes that everyone has the ability to heal, grow, and create a life that feels meaningful. My role is to walk alongside you through life’s challenges, helping you discover practical tools to feel more grounded, manage overwhelming emotions, strengthen your relationships, and face difficult moments with confidence.
I specialize in supporting people who are navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma—experiences that can often feel isolating or heavy to carry alone. Together, we’ll explore what’s been weighing you down and find ways to bring you relief, clarity, and hope.

Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings—including the Johns Hopkins University Counseling Center, community mental health agencies, and specialized psychiatric hospitals—which has given me the privilege of helping people from many different walks of life. As a bilingual counselor fluent in Spanish and English, I offer a space that affirms and honors the Latine community while welcoming individuals from all cultural backgrounds. I understand that your personal story, cultural identity, and values are essential parts of your healing journey, and I make sure they are respected and celebrated in our work together.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and focused on giving you skills you can use in daily life—whether it’s staying present when life feels chaotic, finding healthy ways to cope with stress, or improving communication so your relationships feel more connected.

Most of all, I want therapy to be a place where you can be yourself without judgment. We’ll work together to nurture your emotional well-being, build on your strengths, and help you create a life that feels balanced, authentic, and fulfilling.
