Biography

I believe we all have a natural instinct to move toward healing and wholeness - like a plant naturally faces the sun. I believe there is always a gift in pain and suffering. I believe counseling is one of the many beautiful paths to healing. I am a big believer in alternative medicine. I would be honored to be part of your healing journey. If you do “the work,” you will see change and your quality of life will improve. It is a miraculous process that happens both bit by bit and all of the sudden. You’ll see! I also want to share that I am friendly toward those clients living alternative lifestyles such a polyamorous or open relationships. The concept of the "family" is evolving, and that is a good thing. You can be sure that I will be sensitive to, appreciate, and even celebrate your unique relationship(s) and family constellation. I have been specially trained in emotional trauma. My approach is eclectic. I practice Cognitive Based Therapy, or CBT, and I integrate concepts and techniques from mindfulness-based approaches like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT. I also include concepts from Internal Family Systems, IFS, and Psychodynamic Counseling (specifically Jungian) as needed. (For example, shadow-type work and dream analysis.)
