Biography

Dr. Charley Brown, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor with a PhD in Social Psychology from Liberty University. He brings a compassionate yet direct approach to therapy, with particular expertise in substance use treatment, dual diagnosis, trauma, and mood disorders. Since beginning his clinical work in 2012, he has supported adolescents and adults across multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization, intensive in-home services, outpatient treatment, and private practice. He works closely with veterans, first responders, and individuals navigating addiction, depression, anxiety, and complex life stressors.

Dr. Char integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients build practical coping skills and deepen their understanding of their mental health. With a background in theater and artistic expression, he incorporates creativity into treatment planning when appropriate, allowing for personalized and engaging therapeutic work. His goal is to ensure each client feels understood, supported, and empowered to manage stress, embrace self-acceptance, and move toward lasting mental wellness.
