Biography

Andrea Bates, LCSW, has been a licensed clinical social worker since 2009 and is licensed in both North Carolina and Maine. She works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, divorce, grief and loss, self-esteem concerns, and pregnancy and postpartum-related challenges. Andrea creates a welcoming, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe discussing what matters most to them. She is known for being trustworthy and easy to talk to, while also gently encouraging clients to explore their motivations, patterns, and choices in order to foster meaningful growth.

Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and Motivational Interviewing. Drawing from years of one-on-one clinical experience, Andrea tailors her work to each client’s unique needs, helping them build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence. She is dedicated to ensuring clients feel supported and reminds them that they are never alone in their therapeutic journey.

Andrea believes that giving yourself the time and space to pause and breathe is one of the kindest and most essential acts of self-care. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys reading—both fiction and nonfiction—and attending concerts, where she appreciates the energy and connection between performers and their audiences.
