Biography

"Alexis Fleming is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Tennessee State University, earned in 2021. She supports adults navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, perinatal mental health, relationship issues, and racial identity. Alexis has a special focus on helping women, BIPOC clients, and survivors of complex trauma reconnect with their sense of safety, self-worth, and voice.

Her therapeutic style is compassionate and collaborative, drawing from evidence-based approaches including Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT, ACT, and Internal Family Systems. Alexis creates a space where clients can explore their stories, unlearn harmful patterns, and move toward healing with empathy and intention.

In her free time, Alexis enjoys reading adventurous novels, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones."

Treatment approach

Our sessions will offer a warm, honest, and collaborative space where we can laugh, unpack the hard stuff, connect the dots, and work together toward feeling more like yourself again. My approach to therapy is a balance of genuine connection and compassion with practical tools and gentle challenge, so you feel both deeply understood and supported in making meaningful change.

Strengths

My clients describe me as direct, but compassionate. I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and help you get to the root of what’s really going on; not just manage the symptoms. My goal isn’t for you to feel like you need therapy forever, but to feel more equipped to handle life when it's hard.

Interests & hobbies

Outside of therapy, I’m a wife and mom. I love slow mornings, cozy restaurants, and traveling. I like to laugh as much as possible and savor the little joys of life.
