Biography

Dr. Nasro Ahmed, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, is a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of experience in inpatient and outpatient medical and psychiatric care. She specializes in treating depression, anxiety, panic disorders, PTSD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, ADHD, OCD, psychosis, and autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Ahmed provides care to children, adolescents, and adults, offering comprehensive support across the lifespan.

Her approach is holistic and patient-centered, focusing on treating the whole person rather than just symptoms. Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), she integrates evidence-based strategies with thoughtful medication management to promote lasting recovery and emotional stability. With experience in hospitals, emergency departments, psychiatric units, and outpatient clinics, she brings a calm, compassionate presence and strong clinical expertise to individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Dr. Ahmed believes that meaningful mental health improvement begins with taking the first courageous step toward care. She is committed to creating a supportive, culturally responsive environment where patients feel understood and empowered in their healing journey. Outside of practice, she enjoys cooking, spending time with family, walking along Minnesota’s lakes, hiking, and traveling to explore new cultures and perspectives.
